I have now moved to Tribeca with Neha and Darshna! Today we started with brunch at a contemporary Thai fusion restaurant Kittichai. A delicious explosion of flavours - I had Kittichai omelette with Thai sour sausage and jumbo lump crab with curried potatoes. Neha's kaffir lime pancakes with lemon grass butter was an amazing mix too. Walked around Soho for most of today, trying to keep out of the sun. I have drowned myself in ice coffees here. We went to the Chelsea Garage Vintage markets which had a great array of junk from vintage designer clothing to knick knacks and collectables. I found the most exciting pair of Charles Jourdan shoe/sandals for $30 which you will see later... Tonight we went to Alma with Mel and Pat too - a Mexican restaurant in Brooklyn Heights which is also one of the top ten rooftop restaurants in the world. The view was stunning and it was awesome watching the sun set and the Manhattan skyline slowly light up as it got dark. The food was pretty choice too, I had chipotle prawns over cheese grits. Had a mareish trip over to Williamsburg afterwards where we met up with Tessa! We popped into the most LOLest bar, the first we stumbled upon. It had about 10 different themes going on as well as the most eye twitching whinings of kareoke downstairs.

day 12 july 11
Made my way down to China Town Brasserie to meet Neha and Darshna for lunch. We all chose the set menu options for Restaurant Week (running 11 – 18 July) which included a choice of salad, dim sums, main and dessert – pretty good value! The food was pretty good - it was nice to eat some Asian food... It was a pretty clean dressed up fusion version of traditional Chinese food though. Then spent the afternoon pushing our way through the hustle and bustle of shops on Fifth Ave. Far too much to see, way too many people, and unbearable heat! It was pretty nice to stay indoors at all the nice shops that I would never be able to afford. I also tried a cupcake from Magnolia Bakery under Grand Central – it wasn’t out of this world but pretty yum. Was pretty tired by the time we got back to the hotel so we had dinner at a little American diner/bar style place around the corner from us. Last night in Tribeca!
