156 birthday

Some invites I made while feeling particularly creative and patient... for a small dinner for my early 21st.

155 enna roams

The time has come! Here are a few favourites from my recent shoot with super talented photographer Rebekkah Farrell and the amazing Enna Ye. Check out Rebekkah's blog to see the full shoot.

This first collection is called 'Reflections', and is inspired by old hunter and gatherers, wandering nomads, and the serenity and reflection time that comes from being solo in the outdoors. Rich variations of berry purples compliment the olive greens and beiges, with an appearance of refreshing pale grey blue. Shapes are loose and flowing, and reflect the ease and freedom that is experienced when surrounded by nature and nothing else.

I hope you all enjoy xx

154 muso mondays #17

WOAH - how chilled out is Metronomy's new album compared to the thrashing tones of Nights Out. I guess that was for some crazy head bashing nights out, whereas The English Riviera sounds pretty quaint. This is my new favourite song - new drummer Anna Prior's voice is lazy yet prim and proper, just like it should be.

153 a sneak peek

Rebekkah, Vinnie, Enna and I had a pretty adventurous outing last week at Mokoroa Falls, to photograph some clothes I designed. Here is a little taste of what's to come, make sure you keep an eye out on Rebekkah's blog later this week for plenty more! Can't thank you three enough for a fantastic day xx

152 silky polka dot runners

Made myself some fabulous shorts out of this beautiful  silk you may recognise from Ruby's Billy Dress last summer. They are the the ultimate lounging short - elastic waist, baggy pockets, and so ridiculously lightweight I can't wait for them to become a summer staple in New York and Europe. 11 days till I'm off - that is ridiculous. My list of things to do becomes 10x longer every day. I was not born to prioritise...

151 ella verberne is a psychotic cake shop girl in massad's new song

This is all sorts of Amazing!! Massad is my friend's brother, this I just found out woah... Directed by James Solomon and photography by Garth Badger. And if you thought you recognised the crazy dress Ella wears Serena Fagence (designer of all of Zowie's stage outfits) designed it! The whole thing reminds me of Marina and the Diamonds song Obsessions.

149 school's out

Lately I've been obsessed with channelling school girl vibes whenever getting dressed. I have been feeling this way for a good few weeks now, but I've only just figured it out. The moment is stuck in my head earlier this week when I was there, bored, at work, and I suddenly realised I was dressed like a King's girl. Maybe it's all come from waking up far too late and subconsciously pining for the days when I didn't have to decide what to wear everyday. Whatever it is, I like it. A sense of uniform never did any harm, right?

If you're getting grumpy vibes from these photos, it's cos I was grumpy.

147 the minimalist

Great black and white photography always has a greater power. It's like using limits as the boundary of your freedom; these sorts of limitations further the need for creativity, in a way that colour photography cannot.

145 madame hawke spring summer 11/12

After a week's worth of kick ass boring work, there's something quite uplifting and inspiring about coming home and peering over Madame Hawke's new spring summer collection, entitled 'Fun Work'. It gives me hope that there is such a thing! Madame Hawke always gets casual chic spot on: clean lines and simple shapes with attention to the finer details - this collection features stretch 'n' gro neck lines, perfectly mid length sleeves, thigh high splits, and the most yummiest garden print chiffon.

The new collection follows the Madame Hawke muse throughout her week; her work time and free time, each day's events and the moods that she's in. There are stronger, more structured pieces such as the Relax Suit and Monday Shirt to take care of good business, the beautiful Garden Dress in floral chiffon when she wants to unwind, and poppy orange and purple colours which add a playful element. Ultimately, it is a very thought provoking collection - what mood are you in today??
