Today is one month until I depart for some serious travelling. And I still have so much to sort out! Eek. Well before I become a well travelled girl I thought this would be a fantastic time to share Ruby's new spring and summer collection for the warmer months ahead - because firstly yes I am going into summer and missing the cold winter (nothing like a bit of visual inspiration and mental preparation), and secondly, the new collection embraces the travelling girl in all of us!
Entitled 'Boardwalk', this season's collection is about a European Vacation, and a perfect summer's day. The bright sunset colours and patterns remind me something of the wonderfully exotic Greek islands or something (who knows, I'll tell you when I come back). There are wonderful tie-dye silks, washed out and patchwork denim, and bright pops of pink and orange which stand out among sandy greys and beiges.
I also love that Ruby and Madame Hawke have separated their spring and summer pieces this season. It shows a subtle clarity to the collections and in this traveller's journey gives a sense of moving place to place. My picks for next summer - Sunset sweater, ankle cuff Boardwalk heels, Silky riva dress, and Boating dress. Bring on the warmer months!
