40 HOW TO PARTY WITH TWENTY-SEVEN NAMES
1. Get Howie to take a shitty photo in studio. (Mel wears Madame Hawke blazer, home made dress, Overland booties, Fran wears Madame Hawke blazer, home made dress, Hazel wedges from Spain)
2. Check out the food and drinks table, and spot Juliette Hogan.
3. Rose syrup infused champagne in (both) hand(s), take a photo with the crowd...
4. Receive compliments on the footwear
5. Eat yummy lemon and vanilla cupcakes with rose syrup icing, courtesy of Jordan Rondel of the caker
6. Take some polaroids with twenty-seven names' look book photographer. (Mel + I, Mel + I with Jill + Maxine, Mel + I with Anjali Stewart FTW - we are now best buds)
7. Take photos of, amongst and with the backdrop. Take a cute photo with Natalie Smith + Zoe Walker of somuchtotellyou, and Anjali Stewart + Rachel Easting of twenty-seven names. KAPOW!
8. Receive mysterious goody parcels on leaving!

How fitting that there are twelve photos! (haha, their new ss10/11 collection, get it?)
We talked to Zoe, Natalie and Anjali, and the were all so lovely, friendly and down to earth. The show was a massive success today, and the spirits at the after party reflected that (exhausted/relieved/uber pleased). Natalie talked us through their inspirations for the Fearsome Five, (college glory days, all cliques included), and as I talked to Anjali about her and Rachel's relationship I couldn't help but think about the similarities in my life.... and that is where I'll leave this!
Thank you Zoe, Natalie, Rachel and Anjali for a fabulous time! what an amazing show you put on today :D xx
39 OMG IT'S RUMI NEELY
Did anyone see me and Greer on One News last night?
And HOLY fuck it's Amanda and Rumi Neely of fashiontoast. This be taken on my own Canon 550D by Colin himself (Rumi's boyfriend and photographer), I'm claiming it! Watch this space - many many more photos to come, I'm excited!

Arrived home to find these sweet treats outside my bedroom door, my bro must be home! For those of you who don't familiarise with my taste in chocolate, Dars is a Japanese chocolate (these just in from Singapore) and the best chocolate in the world! (Milka is second). What a deliciously sweet day (nom muesli and raspberry muffin @ Ruby's show at Fashion Week, red velvet cupcake from Petal Cupcakes and Rosemount Ruby O at Ruby Boutique, DARS, and Haribo ooomgee) cannot wait to party with twenty-seven names tomorrow where I hear Jordan Rondel of the caker will be providing some sweet treaties! mm mm.
37 HIKING UP A STORM - RUBY'S DEBUT
The windy weather today paid a little visit for winter 2011s Ruby girl ... :)
Wow Ruby Boutique have come a long way, and after todays show I think it is only up up up from here! The brand has grown up a lot since their baby days; this collection has matured from their trademark girly chiffons and floaty shapes to a sturdy semi-sporty winter collection full of gorgeous thick wools and seductive textures.
The range showed off a hard working, 1960s girl on a bit of an adventure. Mustards, navy/cream box checks, and alluring forest greens set the canvas for a *bright eyed and bushy tailed* winter collection ;) For the fashionable mountaineer - stunning stiff pleated wool skirts, panda print wool knit jumpers, plaid pants (must have), and of course their superb winter coats, were teamed with hiking socks and brown suede boots. It still of course had that girly girl aesthetic which Ruby gets *perfect* every time - cheeky mustard bike shorts with scalloped edges (amazing) worn under a sheer two toned mauve jumpsuit with elasticated bottoms, plaid double-ruffled short shorts, full feathery fringed belted mini dresses worn with new Ruby gold heeled pumps,.. not to mention the gorgeous models with their soft blow waved hair and sexy bright red lippy. The catwalk was snuggly lined with sheepskin (is it sheepskin?) rugs, perfect for a midwinter celebration over the deeelicious Ruby O and yummy Waiheke Island toasted muesli.
Highlights:
> I had the privelege of working backstage dressing the lovely Imogen Watts! Man she is a sweety. Check her out in the first photo and guess who peeps in in the right hand side :p (ME).
> Seeing Ella Verberne - wow.
> the box checked pants, sequinned jumper and stiff pleated skirts, yes yes please.
What a fabulous first show!! :)

How famous did this chicka become in a few days! She has been around a while though, you might know her as Bionic Pixie, and you might especially know her from performing at ANZFW '09 with designer (and my friend Chloe's sister!) Serena Fagence's collection in her first ever show at fashion week. Definitely caught some attention !! Serena exclusively designed outfits for Bionic Pixie, and has also worked with other artists such as Charlie Ash and The Naked and Famous.
Anyway... Now Zowie's back (record companies have been fighting over her until now) and is set to take over the world - but seriously! She's been talked about on the world's largest celeb gossip site Perez Hilton and her new single Broken Machine is the new song of the C4 ads. It is seriously catchy - it's been in my head ever since I heard it for the first time. It's so lovely and refreshing to hear some awesome new music from the homeland!
Here is a sweet little write up about Serena and Zowie, and also check out this awesome video I found, while we wait for Broken Machine's to be released :)

34 CTFO @ LONDON FASHION WEEK
London Fashion Week kicked off yesterday opening with shows from Australian labels Sass & Bide, Felder Felder and Hannah Marshall.
I am especially excited for the House of Holland ready to wear collection, CTFO (chill the f*ck out) It's Only A Show; where as usual Henry Holland gets his message across straight and simple. The new collection centred on the theme of the House of Holland girl going downtown. Trademark cheeky and quirky, there was a more upmarket feel to this collection, with suede shearling used on jackets and striped denim and crepe for an oversized boiler suit. Plus look at those AMAZING wedges - wowie! They are Charlotte Olympia suede ankle boots, and you can get them here. For the more realistic wallet, get the look at Mi Piaci with their fabulous Horton wedges.
The British Fashion Council also announced a slot on its official schedule to host its first ever sustainable catwalk show. The open air event was held in the grounds of Clarence House and featured some big names such as Stella McCartney and Vivienne Westwood, as well as smaller labels such as People Tree. The show reflects a change in thought and attitude the industry, it is a first but significant step in raising the global standard of sustainable fashion.

33 THE NEW CK ONE
The name of the day is Jessica Clarke. All the way from Palmerston North, the 17 year old beauty is creating hype down under after scoring a very first for New Zealand - a New York Fashion Week exclusive with Calvin Klein. Since being crowned Miss Teen Manawatu in July 2008, she has grown exponentially as a world class success, described by top US casting director Ashley Brokaw as "classic supermodel material from New Zealand".Woah!

32 MY FAVOURITE THINGS
Summer to a tee, I cannot wait to get my hands on these!
I want to make pleated skirts like Lonely Hearts tennis inspired SS10/11, and lounge around in Shakuhachi. Their SS10/11 takes me back to high school English taking inspiration from the haunting cult classic Heavenly Creatures. Silk, lace, and muted camel, pink and grey tones, it oozes lazy days and romantic nights and is the perfect effortlessly cool.
NZ fashion week is next week and I am lucky enough to be working with Ruby Boutique backstage. I am constantly amazed and obsessed with the fact that NZ fashion is taking over the world. Today I also spotted Ella Verberne (see last 3 photos) , the stunning 15 year old who has taken over in the past few months (SGC, twentysevennames, Kate Sylvester lookbooks). Go Asian!
